| Who We Are | |
| Blackstrap is home to a family of sailors from a variety of backgrounds that enjoy sailing and a ‘day at the lake’. Laser, Laser II’s, SeaSprays and Hobies make up the majority of our member-owned boats. Once through the gate, you enter the ‘stress-free’ zone that is Blackstrap Sailing Club. A beautiful view, awesome sunsets, campfires, marshmallows, and some of the most exciting sailing in Saskatchewan. | |
| The world-renowned ‘Mountain Madness Regatta’ held the first weekend of June draws sailors from across the province to race or helps with the race management and enjoys the camaraderie with fellow sailors, the Bar-be-Que. and Fireworks! Another main event of our club is the ‘Great Corn-roast Regatta’ which is held the last Sunday of August. This is a go-for-broke race afternoon in any weather and the most delicious roasted corn in the west - Saskatchewan grown of course! | |
| December is the beginning of the DN Iceboat Trials. Bring your kids, your dogs, and skates! There is always a game of shimmy going on between exhilarating runs on the DN’s. A roaring fire in the clubhouse with hot-dogs and hot-chocolate tops off a great day on the lake. | |
| All sailors’ young and old, new and seasoned are welcome to join Blackstrap Sailing Club. | |

| Location | |
| The BSSC Clubhouse is perched on a rise overlooking the north-east bank of Blackstrap Lake, just 25 minutes south of Saskatoon just 7 km’s off of Hwy 11. The large deck out front is a great place to gather with friends and enjoy the spectacular sunsets. Inside the clubhouse features an old-fashioned woodburning cookstove as well as a large airtight stove provides warmth and comfort on those chilly evenings. A campfire pit near the beach, sheltered by trees is another pleasant way to spend an evening for the aprez-sail events. | |
