CHAMPIONSHIPS.

NOTICE OF RACE

June 14-15, 2008

Blackstrap Sailing Club, Blackstrap Lake, SK

 

 

1.                  Venue the 2008 Western Canadian Masters Championships will be held at Blackstrap Sailing Club, Blackstrap Lake, SK.  The Blackstrap Sailing Club, the Saskatchewan Sailing Clubs Association and the North American Laser class, District 5 are the organisers of this event.

 

2.                  Rules The races will be governed by the current 2005-2008 Race Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the Canadian Yachting Association, the rules of the International Laser Class Association, ILCA and the Sailing Instructions.

 

3.                  ISAF Eligibility Code Each competitor shall be required to show proof of membership in a CYA club.  A membership card is the normal method of proof.

 

4.                  Divisions      A sailor must have reached 35,45,55,or 65 years of age by the first day of the regatta, June 14^th.  Great Grand Masters and women are allowed to use 2 sails/rigs, 1 radial and 1 full rig as long as they have the same sail number.

 

35-44              Apprentice-Green Ribbon

45-54              Master-Red Ribbon

55-64              Grand Masters-Blue Ribbon

65 and older  Great Grand Masters-Yellow Ribbon

6.         Scoring. The Low Point Scoring System, 1 drop after 5. Ten races are scheduled of which one race must be completed to constitute a series.

 

7.                  Safety All participants are required to wear an approved PFD when on the water. It is the competitor’s decision to enter the regatta and to start or continue any race. The competitors are ultimately responsible for the risks. The competitor will accept full responsibility for all his actions during any activity related to the event.

 

8.                  Entry Fee      $25.00

 

9.                  Accommodations Hotel accommodations are available in Saskatoon. Camping is available at the club.

 

10.             Awards Top three in each division will be awarded.
