John Merz Memorial

John Merz, past president of the SSCA, the Saskatoon SC and Lake Diefenbaker YC and Founder of the CYA Sail West Regatta is an original supporter of the provincial and Prairie sailing circuit. The SSCA was given the permission from the Merz family to honour John Merz on the John Merz Memorial SSCA Series Cup.

The SSCA Series Cup is to promote SSCA member club regattas and its member racing sailors. The SSCA Series Cup will recognize excellence on the provincial circuit and recognize sailors of different ages, sex and skipper or crew.

Scoring system

· score = 1st = 100 pts, 2nd = 99 pts, 3^rd = 98 pts, etc

· 97 points for Race Management. (4^th place) 

· DNF at a regatta will be scored 0 points

· Count the best 5 regatta event scores towards John Merz Series Cup Score total.

· CYA Sail West and CYA 16 and under’s are included as possible

· Ties will not be broken.
