Blackstrap Sailing Club – Wednesday Night Racing

The world has been taken over by females sailing full rigs.

Good to see the little sails go away when it gets light and then have more fast boats in the mix. Sydney Byrns won 2 races, Kristine Coons won 2 races, Ilia won the other. Quebec’s Canada Games rep Louis Pierre is showing his old form with strong scores. District 3 secretary and water Rat member Randy had good scores including a 2 in race 5.

Randy is from Toronto and commutes, please show a nice hospitable prairie welcome, not everyone from there ……………. can play hockey.

Race Committee Lewis Otereulo was heard asking many questions of RC Patty Coons, while in the same boat. How much time between the Warning and start? ……… How much time between the Prep and pre down? ……… How much time? ……….. How many races has Lewis won ….. and he still does not know this?

Nic had a great start in race 7. Leading the race with the little sail.

Kristine port tacked the fleet in race 5 for the easy win.

Matt is still yawning from the lack of sleep from the night shift.

Good to see Jordon out for the first race of the year.

Wet spring, good for the mosquito population. To see mosquitoes in the middle of the lake on the start line, that is a new one for me. The last race is actually a race to the team container for BUG SPRAY ……………..

Your scores as follows.

1. Sydney 1 3 2 1 3 10 pts
2. Coach 2 5 3 4 2 16 pts
3. Ilia 3 1 4 3 6 17 pts
4. Kristine 7 2 1 8 1 19 pts
5. Randy 4 7 6 2 5 24 pts
6. LP 5 4 7 5 4 25 pts
7. Matt 6 6 8 9 7 36 pts
8. Jordon 8 8 6 6 8 38 pts
9. Nic 9 10 9 7 9 44 pts
10. Bill 10 9 10 10 10 49 pts

A Visual Report from the RSC Committee boat, May Regatta 2010

We had a blast in spite of what the weather threw at us especially on the
last day!

With winds observed to be oscillating 320 Degrees in the space of an hour
and five goes at getting a good start for the competitors, to have completed
three races on the last day with only 2 abandonments was a major feat of
accomplishment. Many thanks to all those who made this possible in the
constant maneuvers of the mark boats and the unswerving perseverance of the
Race Committee PRO.

The list is too long to mention everyone and the parts you played in pulling
off another excellent Regatta. You know who you are. So thanks for the
super effort.

If you go to the link below, I have posted a few pics for all to see. Feel
free to pass on the link to those others who may be interested or
participated, but have not been included in the email distribution.
